Tim Hickey

Tim Hickey is a skilled legal executive, CPA and partner to senior business leadership teams, from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups.  He is valued for his strategic thinking, commercial practicality, judgment, creativity, negotiations expertise and ability to drive change.  He has a proven record of solving complex legal and business challenges, while reducing risk, and meeting commercial goals and deadlines. A seasoned executive who efficiently manages competing, high profile, high priority matters, Tim thrives in a fast moving, results driven environment.

Before joining Quadrant, Tim had a 17 year career at Sears serving in multiple roles, finally serving as Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Sears Holdings, where he served as Lead Attorney (in essence, a divisional general counsel) for their Kenmore®, Craftsman® and DieHard® business unit.  He also served as Lead Attorney for ServiceLive, an e-Commerce start-up on-line marketplace for aggregating buyers and sellers of on-site services.

Tim has extensive experience with IT and IP agreements including purchases, licenses, alliance agreements, co-existence agreements, including negotiating Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, migrations to the cloud, data center licenses and development and other IT core infrastructure projects.   Tim oversaw the worldwide IP Portfolio for Sears, managing the KCD brands worldwide, overseeing the creation of Sears Holdings global IP portfolio and the protection of the related IP assets.  He also supported the consumer electronics and KCD team in their participation in the Internet of Things market through the Connected Life initiative.

As a key part of various negotiations, Tim led multi-year negotiations with global suppliers on multi-billion dollar appliance alliance agreements, negotiated multiple IT outsourcing agreements with revenues in excess of $2 billion, including navigating the breakup of a billion dollar 10 year outsourcing arrangement, and renegotiated a $1 billion pharmaceutical contract with a national retail chain.  He has also established inter-company agreements to facilitate the $1.6 billion spin-off of Lands’ End.

Before his time at Sears, Tim was an Associate with Vedder Price in Chicago, IL, in their financial transactions group.

Tim received his J.D.  magna cum laude  from the University of Illinois College of Law and his BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois College of Business where he graduated with high honors.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.  He lives in the greater Chicago area with his wife and children.
